Pumpkin Bread

I got this recipe from SnoWhite at Finding Joy in my Kitchen.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

1 1/2 C flour (can use 1/2 C whole wheat)
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 C brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 C pumpkin puree
1/2 C applesauce (unsweetened)
1 egg, beaten
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. all spice
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 C dark chocolate chips

Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl, and the wet in another.

Add the wet to the dry. If you are finding the batter to be too dry, add up to 1/4c water. I didn't have to add any.
Add the chocolate chips last.
Grease a loaf pan. Pour batter into pan and bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes.

Cool in pan for about 5-10 minutes, then cool on cooling rack before serving.

  1. We really liked it! I added some extra spices for fun (cloves and ginger I think).
    Thanks for the great recipe!
